ArcTiv iPDU’s Provide Remote Management of Racks and IT Equipment for Colocations

ArcTiv iPDU’s serve as a critical power component for colocation data centers users to remotely monitor rack performance and reboot or manage IT devices without having to travel on-site.  This is especially important in regions where Covid-19 restrictions are limiting travel to the data centers for servicing equipment.

Upgradeable Modular Design

The modular iPDU’s include hot-swap network & outlet modules which can be field replaced or upgraded as the rack equipment needs change of time. The innovative design also allows a user to upgrade the iPDU from a metered model to a fully managed system.  This can help to save costs and complexity so that the user doesn’t need to fully replace the iPDU if they need to upgrade at a later date.

 Outlet-Level Access Control Rights

The iPDU’s have a unique feature which enables the IT administrator to assign user access rights per outlet which limits select users to only their designated devices within the rack.  This is especially important in Colocations where multiple customers may be sharing a common rack and need full control of their specific equipment.  To learn more, see the video below.

In addition, the iPDU’s offer an electronic handle accessory which can be managed through the iPDU IP address.  This consolidates all of the rack security through the iPDU in addition to environmental sensors and remote alerts.

Remote Monitoring of Rack Environment and Power Management

The ArcTiv iPDU product line includes a sensor hub which interconnects with rack sensors for remote alerts and monitoring, reducing the need for on-site management.  These include temperature & humidity, smoke, water door in addition to alarm beacons and access control.  The iPDU’s include multiple communication protocols including SMNP and ModBus-RTU for full compatibility with DCIM’s to remotely monitor the Data Center power, cooling and alerts.  ArcTiv iPDU’s include 1% accuracy for both input and outlet metering which enables Colocation Data Center operators to optimize the PUE and balance 3-phase loads.
